Leipzig Festival of LightsI vote, I build !

How the vote of the citizens builds the society?
How the electoral fraud and the totalitarianism prevent the development of a society thought for her citizens?
Behind the notion of vote hides a will on behalf of the citizens to participate in the construction of their society. What happens when this wills is hindered by a system totalitarianism diverting the foundations of the democracy in its profit?

This project invites the spectator to become aware of these two models of society. Through animations, illustrations and typographies in echo with the characteristic architecture of Neue Rathaus, the citizen is invited to dive into a universe made by liberties and by diversities of opinions, colored and alive, or on the contrary in an oppressive world, despising the values of Germany and Europe for the benefit of an authoritarian and alienating regime.

By reminding a period sink of the city of Leipzig, the electoral fraud of May 1989, the project questions about the role of the citizen in the democratic society and the way it participates in the construction of the city, the nation and Europe.

Pyramidal screenAudio Reactive Sculpture

Pyramidal Screen is a multi dimensional audio reactive sculpture either contemplative or participative.

It is conceived on volumetric projection principles, inspired by the Crystal of Bismuth. The interaction of 3 pyramids generates a harmonious concert of tones and the breath of the public perturbs the visual balance.

Pyramidal Screen is an invitation to reconsider our relationship with technology.

Fresque des LyonnaisMonumental augmented drawing

“Fresque des Lyonnais” has been seen during Lyon Lights Festival 2013.

This monumental augmentation of a “trompe l’oeil” mural painting was a world premiere. Under the direction of “Cité Création”, we did create with BKYC a video and light show, animating the people on the drawing, and using all the drawn architecture.

This installation met with a great success and allowed us to win our first Partners Award of Lyon Lights Festival.

Nón lá poetry3D Video Mapping Show

“Nón lá poetry” has been seen during Jerusalem Lights Festival 2013.

It is a 3D experience of monumental video mapping. In Hue, Vietnam, conical hats, called “nón”, contain verses from poems in between their layers (“lá”) that can be revealed when held against the sun.

Inspired by this, we bought some of these perfectly shaped hats in Hanoi, and used light and geometry to create our own poetry.

ExtrapolisInteractive augmented drawing

Extrapolis is an interactive installation using the augmented drawing technique.

Théoriz Studio collaborates with BKYC to explore the possibilities given by the “Extra-interesting” mix of drawing strokes, video animations and the public integration inside the drawing.

Breaking the boundaries between drawing and video projection, this digital artwork literally draws the spectator in an imaginary and alive city. Putting human life and animation at its core, Extrapolis explores and questions the relationship between the city and its inhabitants.

Extrapolis draws its inspirations from both the comic’s world and the digital art sphere, like AntiVj’s Cityscape 2095.

This project was developed during the artistic residency Vidéophonic #23 organized by AADN.

Pacmanize meInteractive architectural mapping

“Pacmanize me” has been seen during Lyon Lights Festival 2011.

It is a playful and participative installation for young and old. Pacmanize me is a monumental projection of Pacman game on a building façade. Pacman’s mazes are generated according to the architecture of the building, becoming a moving and alive playground.

Each event triggers new architectural mapping effects. Other projections and sound effects usually create the whole. The game play has been developed in order to replace the remote by the hand of the player.

Only one rule to respect, enjoy it!
